Happy Birthday Gavin!

Things have been so busy with the shop lately!  SO HAPPY about that!  But, I have been neglecting my blog and all the party pics that my sweet customers have been sending me.  I love sharing the creative parties that they put together and seeing how they incorporate my designs into an amazing event!

My nephew Gavin turned six in September and has just recently become obsessed and very knowledgeable about all things Star Wars.  He wanted to have his party at a local bowling alley, complete with laser tag for just a few of his closest friends.   So, I got busy designing the perfect invite and party goods for his special day.

We set the mood for the party with this invite.

Then added a fun Happy Birthday banner for décor.

 Love this cake!

How cute are these little guys?

May the Force be with You……don’t forget your favors!

Happy Birthday Gavin!  I can’t believe you are six.  I remember every single detail of the first time I held you, the day you were born.  You have charmed our hearts and are probably one of the sweetest, most caring little boys I have ever met.  We love you so much and can’t wait to celebrate more birthdays with you!

And the Cow Jumped Over the Moon........

I think nursery rhyme parties are so adorable and the perfect theme to celebrate a first birthday party.  What is sweeter than all the classic stories we all grew up on?

When Sarah asked me to design a "boyish nursery rhyme" themed invitation for her son Brayden's first birthday party, I couldn't wait to get started.  We decided to focus the invitation on Hey Diddle Diddle.  I added a touch of blue and green madras plaid to coordinate on all the party goods, just to give it that LITTLE BOY touch.

How cute are these snacks?  Love the Three Men in a Tub!  Sarah was a school teacher so she had tons of really creative games for the kids too!

Each child got their own little bag of Golden Books for their favors!

It's Berry Sweet

I absolutely LOVE that Strawberry Shortcake is popular again.
I grew up playing with these dolls and had the whole set of the little minis, you know the ones, that smelled?

When my SIL told me that my niece wanted a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party with lots of pink, I was thrilled!  I designed this invite to set the mood for the party.

Isabella had requested red, lots of pink and lime green!  The party was adorable and despite the fact that we were struck by Hurricane Irene less than 12 hours after the party was over, inside it was sunny and tons of fun!

Happy Birthday Bella Boo!  We love you!

Parisian Poodle Party

I recently had the opportunity to do the most adorable party for one of my dear friends that I have known since I was in elementary school.  I LOVE doing parties for my girlfriends little girls.  Especially since I can remember our parties when we were younger.  Just to give you an idea, let's travel back a few years!
That is me, second from the left and Tina third from the left!

Tina's daughter Daphne, who is turning 8 years old, was having her birthday party at a local pet store and we decided to "glam" it up and do a Parisian Poodle theme!  LOTS of pink and so pretty!

We got the guests excited with this adorable invite!

What a gorgeous dessert table!

Love all the details and all the pink, pink, pink!  Tina, you did an amazing job and I know Daphne LOVED it all!

Here's the sweet birthday girl and her pretty Mommy!

Happy 60th Birthday

I primarily do children's parties, bridal and baby showers, etc, but LOVE when I get asked to do invitations for grown up parties.  After all, shouldn't grown ups have fun invites and party decor too?

A few months ago, my Uncle Mark turned 60 (He's actually my hubby's uncle, but that's just logistics) .   It was only fitting that he have a big bash to celebrate!  Mark and his wife Peggy are very special to me.  All of my aunts and uncles live out of town and every since Drew and I met and I moved to Baltimore they have taken me under their wing.  Over the years, we have become such good friends, I know I can always count on them. They ADORE my girls as much as my girls adore them!

Mark is a huge Baltimore Orioles fan so that is the theme that we went with.  I did the invites and the party decor and he and Peggy pulled from his collection of O's memorabilia to decorate their house for the party.  Everything looked amazing and the party was so much fun!

I designed the invite to look just like an Orioles ticket

Favors of roasted peanuts

And even Cal Ripken made a guest appearance

Sweet Customers Parties

I love it when my customers send me party pics and I get the chance to see all the creative and fun things that they have come up with.  I have so many files of pics and just decided to bite the bullet and start sharing!

Back in early summer, I premiered our newest collection, "Berry Sweet". LOVE this collection, so perfect for a girly, fun summer birthday party.   Amanda from Mandy Ann's Clothing was the first to use this collection for her daughter Brynlee's 6th birthday party.  She did an amazing job putting everything together.  It is just adorable!

LOVE how she used the favor tags on the mason jars!

Have I told you lately how much I love what I do?  There is so much satisfaction in seeing the biggest smile on a child (or a grown-ups) face when they see what you have created for their party.  EVERYONE deserves that extra special party and I love being a part of that!  It is really super special when you can do that for a friend.

Mona is a wonderful friend.  Her daughter, Sia goes to school with my daughters and they have become such good buddies.  They LOVE all things pink and princess.  So when Mona asked me to make some goodies for Sia's 4th birthday party, I knew it would have to be special.  Sia LOVES Little Mermaid, but especially Ursula the Sea Witch!

Love the favor boxes

And the treasure chests for the boys

What a great place for a party.  Pool side for all the little mermaids!

And here is the sweet birthday princess herself!  Happy Birthday Sia!

Summer is almost gone!

Wow!  Where has the summer gone?   I remember during the girls last few weeks of school thinking, "I can't wait for summer."  Now, it's almost over.  In just a few short weeks, they will be starting back and this is their last year before kindergarten.  And my sweet baby, Finley is starting a Two and You program.  All my babies are going to be in school!

We have had a very busy and super fun summer!  Lots of vacations.......In NC, we spent tons of time cooling off in the river, visiting amusement parks, petting sweet ponies and eating SO MUCH watermelon!

We took a boat trip on Lake Lure (yes, home of the movie, Dirty Dancing), went to ballet camp, painted faces and just acted plain silly!
And with the temps in the 100's we have spent the last few days splashing in the pool!

Cupcakes and Lemonade has been so busy too!  I love opening my email to new orders and such interesting custom order themes.  I never anticipated that this little dream of mine would keep me so busy, but it has and I am loving it!  Here are some of the new designs I have been working on.

What a great way to invite friends over for crabs and some ice cold beer!

This was designed for a friend's sweet little boy's first birthday!  LOVE it!

Love this giraffe print, so fresh and fun

Wouldn't be summer without an ice cream party

And probably my most fave.  Nothing screams summer like a lemonade stand.  I LOVE this party theme!

Stay tuned for some fun new fall and Halloween invites.  Lots of new things coming to Cupcakes and Lemonade!  Thanks to all my fans, you are my biggest supporters.

Lots of Fun New Designs!

Summer time seems to be the time for brides and babies.  I have done so many baby shower invites and am working on some super cute bridal shower ones!  Here are some of the newest ones, aren't they fun?

Oh and the summer birthdays!  All three of my girls have winter birthdays and you have to get super creative to plan something totally indoors.  Loving these fun outdoor party themes!

These make me want to plan a fun summer cocktail party or a girls weekend right now!
